Before joining Mallinckrodt, Dana Saporito, National Director, Clinical Specialist Team, served patients within the critical care unit of a leading hospital. It was valuable experience that she credits for her constant focus on Mallinckrodt’s patient-centricity value. As she explained, “it is always about the patient.”
But it is her leadership, collaboration and communication that her colleagues indicate help them stay focused on Mallinckrodt’s mission: Managing Complexity. Improving Lives.
“Dana is the most effective leader of a team that I have ever worked under,” said one colleague. “She understands my job, knows how to do my job, but she lets ME do my job … she has created an environment of mutual trust and as a result, everyone works hard so that neither side is disappointed.”
Because her team is responsible for delivering clinical / technical support, collaboration is key. “Whether serving customers or speaking with physicians, we truly are a collaborative team,” Dana commented. “In my business unit, customers have 24 / 7 / 365 access to support. This is a service that not many other companies offer and in order to get it done, we need to work collaboratively.”
Clear communication is also important to Dana, an approach appreciated and valued by her team. “Clear communication means you always know where you stand with Dana. You never have to wonder, ‘is she talking about me?’ when she brings up an example of how we could improve something,” explained another colleague.
