As an Executive Assistant, an essential element of Ann Duggan’s job is working across regions and time zones to manage logistical elements for leadership. As such, Ann recognizes the value of innovation – especially when it comes to making changes that will improve collaboration and efficiency.
“Small changes can potentially have a big impact,” she explained. “And while not everything I propose will work out, I am not afraid to provide suggestions or identify new ways we can innovate.”
She brings this desire to regularly evolve and innovate to her work to enhance the culture at MNK. From mentoring to organizing charitable initiatives and planning social outings, Ann’s enthusiasm sets a precedent of unwavering dedication and inspiration.
“As a seasoned MNK employee, Ann takes the time to mentor many colleagues,” described one colleague. “She is generous with her vast knowledge of the business, her skills and creativity – it benefits her team around the globe and her coworkers at the Dublin site. She sets a positive tone for MNK team members and those who will follow in her footsteps.”
For example, she explained, “I decided to take initiative and offer colleagues an opportunity to enhance their public speaking skills.” She led a six-week course, equipping colleagues not only with the skills to navigate a presentation, but enhancing their confidence and comfort conversing with others.
She also founded the Corporate Social Responsibility committee in the Dublin office, where she introduced and spearheaded MNK’s efforts to assist Coolmine, a treatment center for men and women suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. Under her leadership, the MNK CSR committee has been nominated for Fingal Dublin Chamber’s CSR/Best Local Community Involvement award for two consecutive years.
Even though one’s motivations for putting in so much time and effort into helping others can be rather straightforward, Ann’s core principles are driven by a simple idea to “invest time in seeking out and putting forward ideas.”
Ann’s investment in innovation and collaboration is having a significant impact in the lives of her colleagues, the patients MNK serves and numerous others in the community.
