Mallinckrodt strives to make inclusion and diversity an integral part of its culture. This year, these efforts received national recognition. Mallinckrodt’s Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) Council ranked sixth on the list of top U.S. 25 organizations to earn the 2016 Employee Resource Group (ERG) & Council Honors Award at the 8th Annual ERG & Council Honors Award™ ceremony, held this past October at the 2016 ERG & Council Conference in Las Vegas.
The ERG & Council Honors Award is an annual recognition issued by the Association of ERGs & Councils to honor outstanding achievements of ERGs, Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and Diversity Councils that lead the diversity and inclusion process in their organizations and demonstrate results in their workforce, workplace and marketplace.
Accomplishments that propelled Mallinckrodt to the top of this year’s honors list include:
• Mentoring programs and improved leadership diversity.
• A companywide focus on employee engagement and education boosted employee participation in BRGs by more than 300 percent over 2014.
• Active executive-level support, in the form of participating in, sponsoring and supporting BRG programs and initiatives.
• The Board of Directors’ added focus on diversity and inclusion as an agenda item at meetings.
“We made tremendous progress integrating inclusion and diversity into the very fabric of the organization,” said Shri Ramachandran, Chief Information Officer and President of Mallinckrodt’s I&D Council. “The energy and enthusiasm around it existed, but now we have the structure and measurement to demonstrate the council’s impact and tell a more powerful story.”
