The Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) has named Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals as the 2018 recipient of the President’s Award for Outstanding Corporate Membership in the College. The award was given to the company at the CCHL’s “Honouring Health Leadership” event in early June at the St. John’s Convention Center, Newfoundland and Labrador.
A dedicated corporate member since 2013, Mallinckrodt has actively sought opportunities to be involved with the college and support many college activities. The mission of CCHL is: To develop, promote, advance and recognize excellence in health leadership. Its members consist of health ministers, hospital executives, nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals who collaborate to develop themselves and others as leaders.
“Both Mallinckrodt and the college recognizes that leadership is a critical success factor to the success of any organization, and that more work can be done to provide innovative medicines to patients,” says Robin Hunter, Mallinckrodt Vice President and General Manager in Canada. “We can play an important role in helping to strengthen our healthcare system toward providing better care to patients and being part of the system transformation to ensure future sustainability.”
Mallinckrodt’s dedication to the college’s vision and mission is evident through its hosting several Health Professionals’ Roundtable for Strategy sessions over the years helping college members achieve their professional development goals and igniting discussion. The company also supported the college’s “Honouring Health Leadership” event; engaged Emerging Health Leaders in college activities, published in Forum, as well as helped support corporate member recruitment. A Mallinckrodt representative is a member of the college’s Corporate Advisory Council.
